Subject: Thank God for Fibopost

Hi Andrew,

I had to send this to you and feel free to use any of it on website if useful.

Sounds dramatic.

It isn’t.

I had an accident last week when installing some fence posts.

Most of my property is sand and installation is pretty easy. But I had a particularly gnarly area I was working in and having trouble with my manual post driver.
I’m pretty strong, and 178cm tall, and stubborn.
I decided I needed a bit more force – so I started lifting the post driver a bit higher to get more

Strip Grazing , moving the fence

Strip Grazing , moving the fence

I have been asked a number of times how to use the Fiboposts in strip grazing and rotational grazing systems where the fence line is required to be moved every 2-3 days and the posts do not need to be driven or pushed into the ground , but can be for additional support.

Here is a option that I have used and it works a treat!

Tyres used can be sourced from your local tyre store and they will be more than happy to give you tyres for the application, tools required are a jigsaw, drill with a 30mm hole saw.

The steps to making this Fibopost support ;

  1. Measure the diameter of the tyre and the height of the wall, mark the tyre for cutting 1/2 the diameter + 2/3 the wall of the tyre so when cut one half fits under the other semi- circle as shown in the

Recycling PET - polyethylene terephthalate

Recycling PET - PolyEthylene Terephthalate

Fiboposts are manufactured from recycled PET , one example is 15 households collected this bag of bottles and containers , many thanks we turned these into Fiboposts ! SO it is not hard to make a difference when recycling.

We turn waste PET into Fiboposts that do not rust, or leach chemicals into the ground are safer than steel star pickets and they are their own insulator outlasting other posts whether timber or steel.

Another novel recycling and solution to a light problem is the use of PET bottles for lighting up homes.

Joining electric fence Wires / Tape or Braid
Sunday, 3 February 2013 - 6:55 PM

Joining electric fence Wires / Tape or Braid

Joining wires in electric fences and the resistance in the joint will effect the performance of the electric fence in terms of length of fence for the energiser , the voltage drop in the fence and the power of the pulse.

If you are using Braid/rope or tape with filaments of wire then the best knot or joint is the Double Fisherman's Knot particularly with the  wires bared and  twisted with a connector.

Of course as farmers we might have forgotten or not learnt Ohms Laws so here is away to visualise the effect of joins graphically . I have made the joints and measured the resistance and then calculated the equivalent diameter of steel wire for the joint. (If you are a “pointy head” or math geek the formula's are on the bottom of

Electric fence tape joining - reducing resistance

Electric fence tape joining reducing resistance

Here is a great tip when connecting too or joining electric fence tape / braid ;

Most tape / rope / braid are all manufactured from various polymers with wire filaments woven into the tape, to bare the wires so that joints are without resistance ( resistance the killer in blocking voltage and electric fences not being effective) Here is a simple TIP.

Do not burn off the polymer/ plastic it will leave a residue of chared polymer and sometimes a film of resin on the wires.

--- Tip --- See the steps below ;

With a cigarette lighter or match heat the tape approx 40-50mm from the end moving back and forwards accross the tape or rope until the plastic/ polymers melt and shrink away from the heated area , allow to cool so the plastic is

Equine Round Yards and Horse Fencing

Round Yards and Horse Fencing

Here is a number of examples of Fibopost applications for round yards and pens, the custom slots eliminate the need for additional insulators and speed up the erection of the fence.

From a lady with horses;

Hi Andrew

It went really well. I’ve been meaning to send pics of the 20m diameter yard built using Fiboposts and wide tape.

The yard shown was put up in approx. 1 hour by two of us with the help of a fab 25mm auger bit that fit in our cordless drill (bit available from Bunnings). This made putting in the posts for the roundyard  super-easy. I’ve also been using it when setting up strip-grazing. Much easier on the shoulders as I only need to use the post-driver for the last few cms of driving the posts into the
