Tulips with Mushroom Risotto and Heritage Tomato Salad

Quail tulips frenched drumstick and thigh sections with the thigh flesh rolled back around the bone to form the tulip. (from Northside Meats in Malaga)

We had them that night with wild mushroom risotto but i think i will have to give them a try with roasted baby beetroot and Celeriac mash

Celeriac, also called turnip-rooted celery or knob celery, is a variety of celery cultivated for its edible roots, hypocotyl, and shoots; these are sometimes collectively called celery root. Celeriac is a root vegetable with a bulbous hypocotyl.

Standing Beef rib roast to me is the King of Roasts . A true crowd pleaser and always a wow factor when served and carved at the table . I like to serve this with oven roasted potatoes , Asparagus , Broccoli and Hollandaise sauce.

While living in the USA I had a favourite sandwich called Philly Steak sandwich. I based the meatball sandwich on that, just more of a budget sandwich and kids love it too!


I went to my favourite butcher on Saturday morning here in Malaga ( Northside Quality Meats, 58 Westchester Road ,Malaga, WA, 6090 , Tel: 9249 8039 / 0409 099 486) and he was selling Wagu mince which was the same price than regular mince and already formed into meatballs . I bought beautiful antique french copper fishpan and like most females I could not wait to try it out .

Salmon is my daughter's most loved fish along with my lemon sauce!

Ingredients;

  • 4 salmon portions skin off

  • 1 cup of butter

  • 1 glove of garlic crushed

  • 2 Tbs of flour

  • 2/3 cup of veggie stock

  • Juice of 1 to 2 lemons

  • Salt and plenty pepper

  1. Heat butter in small saucepan over low heat, add the garlic and sweat it,
